Mad Max - Vuvalini culture involving exiling/killing sons.
Stranger Things - Usage of spoilers for season 4. Speculation about what might happen based on the current 3 seasons is fine, but I prefer to avoid actual spoilers.
General note: I love the humour as much as the horror for TMA and would love some of that included in fic or a longer work of any format. This doesn't apply for non-narrative art - if it's a piece done for the minimalist poster option, for example.
Gerard Keay & Eric Delano
This is basically an urgent whisper from deep in my soul: What if they got to be happy for a minute, come ON. Well, all right, then they shouldn't be in the TMA universe, but surely the fic universe can have Eric nabbing his kid and avoiding getting book-bound? I would love them living always on the edge of the Fears, but managing to eke out a life for themselves that's mostly peaceful. I always liked when Gerry would pop up in others' stories and grumpily help them - more of that, or Eric doing similarly, would be welcome. Alternately, revelling in the horrible sadness of their ends and having them be weird skin book family-buddies. Creepy, painful, bitter dark jokes, but also a type of family connection, wistfulness for the love they could have had for each other.
Danny Stoker/Tim Stoker
Tim's level of hung up on Danny, I could not resist. Such rose-coloured glasses! Ones that I could believe were as firmly affixed when Danny was still alive! I would love something semi-worshipful going on. But I would also like Danny to be weird about Tim somehow. Convinced that Tim is a schlub, despite the actual facts being that Tim is doing well for himself? In awe of how Tim is such a steady guy, unlike Danny who can't stop faffing about?
Misc.:
- Expanding on the implications of the Stranger picking Danny, playing on that collection of fears.
Michael & Jon
Michael/Jon
Michael's see-sawing interest in (hurting) Jon fascinates me, especially with how that lingering, painful humanity affects him and makes him petulant and furious and uncertain. It's an interesting contrast to Jon's becoming more supernatural gradually and taking to it quite naturally. Also I'm pretty grossed-out-delighted by the whole "huge hands that seem like they contain sharp objects" thing and maybe use could be made of that.
Misc.:
- 'yaoi hands Michael' jokes make me laugh entirely too hard, so parody art of notable gigantic hands BL would be stellar.
Martin Blackwood/Danny Stoker/Tim Stoker
Caught between the incestuous machinations between two brothers! Or fanning the flames and leading to the brothers actually getting incestuous, with and also without him in the middle? Either way. Feel free to bring in Martin's extreme family related issues; maybe that traumatic mess left him more open to being like 'well they're not hurting each other ... and also oh no they're both really hot...'
Misc.:
- A/B/O works great for me as an excuse for set-ups where characters might otherwise have reasonable hang-ups about sex. I prefer it without massive oppression of omegas or betas, could be more into oppression of alphas for the rarity value, love the messy and animalistic aspects.
- Feel free to handwave how Tim gets involved with the Magnus Institute if Danny's alive. Or maybe he or Danny meet Martin in a different way.
- Expanding on the implications of the Stranger picking Danny, playing on that collection of fears.
Jon/Daisy
Jon & Daisy
Unlikeliest hurt/comfort pals of my heart. I want these two to waver between monster and human together and find some strength and solace in each other, while having some unusually ordinary moments together. Daisy's aggressive(ly friendly) invitation for Jon to come to the pub with her made me lose it with love.
Misc.:
- I like to imagine a size contrast with Daisy being significantly buffer, and maybe taller than Jon.
- Some statements make the Buried seem weirdly comforting? I'd be interested in seeing their time in the Buried have at least some of that (which is yet another horrifying thing to deal with after they're out).
Michael
I love how he embodies the way the Fears do not work on the human plane, and also just him being creepy. All the tortured mess of being an all too human godfracture, please, with desperate moments of trying to find connection with the current people/old memories in the Archives. And what awareness does Michael have of the larger Spiral outside the universe? Michael-POV of luring people into horrific Distortion traps would also be great. Is there satisfaction to it, lingering horror maybe?
Misc.:
- For art, feel free to induce maximum eye strain. Colours, movement, flashing, I can do it.
Gerard Keay & Jonathan Sims
Gerard Keay/Jon
Considering the logistical difficulties, I'm fine with this being AU. Suddenly Gerry's come back to life? They meet earlier on? Weird metaphysical sex works too, maybe as a last hurrah (uh ... despite the eternal torment of semi-existence. mild hurrah. brisk yet fond goodbye.). Mostly I love the sense that these two could be there for each other and offer a connection to the world that Gerry's always wanted but couldn't achieve and Jon had to really try and work on.
Misc.:
- I always liked when Gerry would pop up in others' stories and grumpily help them - maybe an AU where Jon is more on the fringes of the supernatural rather than dead-centre Archivist of Beholding? Probably about to be eaten by Mr Spider who wants more.
- Gerry gives Jon a goth makeover. Or at least part of one, I'm sure Jon would dig his heels in but. I want.
Trevor Herbert/Julia Montauk/Daisy Tonner
I long for blood and filth. Just, my immediate thought is there's got to be unnameable funk and grime in addition to all the blood and limbs and fangs etc. inevitably flying about. I'd also love them going Hunting, with elements of how their engagement with the Hunt started as a well-intentioned thing and ended up as a horror within themselves. Plus, I'd love some pack mind type things happening. How much can Daisy fight it? Do Julia or Trevor ever want to, when they're so comfortable ending each other's sentences and killing each other's prey?
Misc.:
- Stepping on Corruption's toes but I would love hunter bug imagery if it can fit. Praying mantis arms! Scorpion tails! Dragonfly wings!
- but you can't go wrong with werewolves. Werelions. Werepanthers. Wereraptor. I was thinking birds with that last one, but actually, considering the velociraptor scenes in Jurassic Park haunted me so long, dinosaur elements seem entirely reasonable.
Medium Opt In: Art - Coloring Page
This can be straightforward - fairly simple line art intended to be coloured in - or something that that riffs off the concept for unsettling implications. E.g. a nice beachside scene ... huh, that's an unusual place for a yellow door; image of requested characters strolling, then there's a corner where the Dark is starting to splash everywhere. I'd also be into something that riffs off contrast - it looks like a children's colouring page with cartoonish, goofy-looking designs, but depicts Trevor/Julia/Daisy ripping something or -one apart.

So sweet and so full of pining. I'd love either aspect explored - 10k of straight up fluff, idc, it would absolutely work for me if something went all in on Adachi's firsts, figuring out how to share space (moving in together?), helping out each other and their friends, Adachi trying to give Kurosawa firsts... Pre-canon and AUs are welcome too, though, and if in that case there is more of Kurosawa pining. Well. How could I ever protest.
Misc.:
- they got married via matching pens and I DIED. Would love them sharing more symbols like that. Maybe getting more open with them?
- AU, it's Kurosawa who's the 30yo virgin.
Worldbuilding
Anything about the wizardry! And possibly other magic. Perhaps that Mont Blanc truly does bestow good luck... Maybe Tsuge discovered online hangouts where virgin wizards discuss what on earth is happening? There could be other powers that wizards get. Or I'd love a slight AU where the mindreading is a little different - harder to parse than simply hearing the words, or different people's minds come over in different ways.
Misc.:
- how many wizards are around? Is this truly a world where it happens to a tremendous number of people, or does it happen only to a select few who need the incentive? Are there celibate cabals striving for powers, or a bunch of superpowered monks and nuns and so on? Please only if it's also funny and sweet, or mostly that. Sustained darkness + Cherry Magic would not work for me. Maybe if you're a jerk your mindreading power gets replaced with the ability to hear grass growing or something.

Illyria
Going around and talking about things like nightmares running in the streets and stabbing people, missing how plants sound, everybody else being ants and yet still helplessly forming connections with them... I LOVE the deposed god-king vibe, and that Illyria comes from such a strange view of the world that defies record but her name has lingered on the historical record nonetheless. I want more of that alien perspective, or the time where she wielded power, or the kinds of desolation she has to endure after getting resurrected.
Note on pronouns: I default to 'she/her', but Illyria of old seemed like gender: 'too busy killing to care, everyone else too busy dying to bother' so I'm easy on whatever you'd want to go with.
Note on the comics: I've only seen the show, so would prefer to avoid info from the comics - unless there is cool Illyria stuff and it's contextualised for someone who hasn't read about it.
Possible song inspiration, for fanmix or just in general - Viva La Vida by Coldplay gives me an Illyria mood.
Relationships I'd be interested in seeing explored: the one with Spike is a horrible kind of fun with how she decides he's a great pet, with Wesley is a painful kind of wonderful, it would be great to see more about the sparks of Fred still left or some kind of AU where they could interact, I'm intrigued by the possibilities if she met Dawn 'The Key' Summers, and the time she played Xbox with the Drogyn instead of them going mortal enemies on each other was a delight. I'm down for Wesley/Illyria, older Dawn/Illyria, and Drogyn/Illyria.
Crossovers I'd be into:
Atem aka Yami Yugi from Yu-Gi-Oh! DM - colourful former god-kings from millennia ago suddenly in the modern day ... I used to be into the idea of the ship and would still not say no. Especially early murder-justice mode Yami Yugi.
Apocalypse aka En Sabah Nur from the X-Men: Alternate Timeline Movies - what, another colourful god-king running around? He'd be gone well before Illyria's re-emergence in the modern day, but I'd be very interested in seeing them clash millennia back. Or the timelines getting handwaved so that they do meet in a more modern setting.

Worldbuilding
I'm here from the Fury Road angle and haven't seen the other movies, but feel free to draw inspiration from there. Misinterpreted mysteries of the old world, wildly creative vehicles, the influence of practical brutality on people's mindsets/habits/psychology, mythology invented anew and remixed from old, fantastic elements like ghosts, language change with neologisms like "kamicrazy", disparate groups that defend their territories and in particular what is UP with the Buzzards being a group of Russian-speaking people right there in the middle of Australia, names that sound strange and legendary all at once, how things change for the Wretched post-movie... I'd love a look at the social, religious, and/or everyday routines for worldbuilding. Feel free to mix it in with the requested ships below or Capable/Nux, Cheedo/The Dag, Angharad/anyone, Toast/Slit, The Dag/Toast, Miss Giddy & anyone, Vuvalini & War Boys.
The Splendid Angharad/Furiosa
Same goal, but different views on how to get there: it makes for excellent friction. I want to see more of Angharad being fierce, inspiring, sheltered, and Furiosa despairing, wise, and ferocious, and both of them dealing with hope. How did they establish trust in each other? If Furiosa was a Wife once too, what impact did that have on their interactions? I'd love to see politicking within the Citadel - Furiosa has power as a full-life imperator, Angharad could have influence as the 'favourite'; or the plotting of the escape and how it necessitated Furiosa and Angharad growing closer; or AUs in the general canon-based setting (for example Angharad Lives, or Furiosa has always been at the Green Place that never went sour).
Misc.:
- I'd be into seeing something about issues around sex. How does Angharad deal? I can also see a Furiosa who hasn't really let herself experience sexual desire in ages, due to the culture she's in; maybe it's very strange for her to feel it again. Or instead, desperate, cathartic self-reclaiming sex that results in basically no issues at all.
- One day I saw this ship get called "Fangharad" and my brain jumped to werewolf AU. Feel free to use any werewolf mythology you like, or make some up. Doesn't have to be in the canon setting, it could be modern AU + werewolves.
- I love when the Wives get new clothes, so in case of a visual element with Angharad, that would be great.
Furiosa/The Valkyrie
"This is our Furiosa" = real true love. I am dying to know what kind of friends they were, how they were forged by the world and each other when they were young, every Vuvalini ritual they attended or ditched together, what they could have been if the Valkyrie had lived. How much shock would there be for what Furiosa became over those 7000 days (and then there are the unremembered ones that could offer their own treasure trove of upset and horror), how much sympathy? What memories of the Green Place could they share?
Misc.:
- Once saw a post about how the Valkyrie has all sorts of black feathers and crow skulls in her outfit and on her bike, and also saw different posts about how the people in the swamp were a split-off faction from the Vuvalini when the Green Place went under. Would be very interested in implications from that. Is there bitterness or cooperation from the Valkyrie's side, and would Furiosa want to meet those people (again) or not?
Nux/Slit
Best frienemies and also there could all kinds of sexual issues in the mix, because life at the Citadel is like that. I'd love them as way to view the general War Boy culture - ideas about sex, kindness, religion, imminent death, hierarchy, the mix of innocence and being monsters. And I'd love anything expanding on the push and pull between them, like with Slit wanting to sneak into a promotion as a driver and Nux fighting no-holds-barred to keep his position - there could be resentment and admiration both. What does Slit think of Nux naming and smileyfacing his tumours? Do they do each other's body art?
Misc.:
- Pre-canon or an AU where they live would be great.
- Or: afterlife meetings. I'd prefer something that's not straightforwardly related to any real religion, though elements from them would be fine.

Joe Kido & Gomamon
This magic animal-human, pixie dream seal-neurotic young hero soul bond vibe charms me. I would love any exploration, canon or AU. What was it like for Gomamon to wait for his Digidestined* from the time he started existing? Do either of them feel a connection when they're separated in the time between Adventure and 02? And I'd love anything about what it's like for them to be together long-term once the Digital World is no longer a secret. ...Also about Gomamon's Marching Fishes attack, which I find cute, and maybe the fish have commentary that they chip in with sometimes.
Misc.:
- Shippy works too, though I'd prefer it in an AU. And with a Gomamon that's less seal-like at least some of the time.
*Speaking of, I watched the dub, but picked up enough about the sub that terms like Chosen Child won't throw me. Go with what works for you, including in terms of characterisation.

In general: I like larger than life characters, ones who often make life harder for themselves, and characters of all ages. Feel free to go with genders other than the stated, except for the Godhuntress and with Female Adventurer/Male Drow, all three of which I'd prefer to remain as they are in the tag.
Ageing Male Operetta Singer/Recently Widowed Younger Duke
Seduction from the singer's side so that he has something to fall back on? The young widow pursuing the person whose art made his grief feel bearable or simply made him feel less lonely? Is there a major difference between the singer's public-facing persona and his private one - is it charming when the Charm™ turns off, or is he surprisingly genuine in all non-stage interactions? Perhaps one or both of them never expected to fall for a man, and there's exploration of new ground. Perhaps there's a deadline of sorts to the relationship, because the singer's career might get to a point where it's best to move away to something more secure. An ending with wistful goodbyes would work for me as well as happy & together for good.
Misc.:
- dancing is part of operetta so I'd love dancing tropes between them. Teach Me, getting literally swept off feet, unspoken feelings rising during this nearly-though-not-entirely socially acceptable closeness...
- I'm down for guilty feelings about how fast the Widower is going for someone new after his wife had died, or for it to have been a non-romantic marriage.
Devout Knight/Fallen Angel He Accidentally Rescues (M/M)
Down for any religion that has room for fallen angels, and also the knight questioning whether or not that makes a demon. And possibly the angel questioning, too. I'd prefer the angel here to be more like 'person with wings' style, though if there are intimations towards the 'wings! eyeballs! animal heads! I don't even know what THAT is!' style I would have no complaints.
Misc.:
- love some Literally Divine Orgasm tropes.
- Angel POV could be fascinating. How does he see humans in general and this guy in particular?
- warrior angel, messenger angel, other?
- I'd prefer the knight not to have any real concerns about m/m attraction, or at least in this case where the angel + fallen angel aspects take precedence to him.
Female Adventurer/Male Drow She Captured Who Wants Her To Keep Him
I'd love the intense awkwardness of someone having to deal with a dude who they were pretty sure wanted them dead, who is now going 'please own me'. Probably she also has some urgent adventuring goal that needs getting to and this guy presents a problem that's not going away. Culture clash and misunderstandings, possibly other drow trying to get him back?
Misc.:
- I'm down for any kind of adventurer that is reasonably nice. I'd prefer moral greyness to go up to 'only kills when necessary', 'would not steal candy from baby and food from the dying only that one time' kind of levels, not further.
Male Paladin of Vengeance/His God (M/M)
This feels like a paladin who could have an unusually selfish goal, and I'd be down for the vengeance to be solely down to his need. But it would also be amazing to have him taking on other people's vengeful feelings as his own, at least until the vengeance is accomplished. I'd love some outrageous fantasy badassery - fighting through swathes of enemies to get to the target, going into a berserker state, calculated and targeted taking down of an opponent... I enjoy gods who aren't all-powerful - perhaps only within their domain, or who no longer have proper control even though their raw power is there.

Godhuntress/Goddess (F/F)
I am very, very ready to hear all about why and how a godhuntress comes to exist. How does the goddess live long enough to turn the hunting urge around? I'd love some outrageous fantasy badassery - fighting through swathes of enemies to get to the target, going into a berserker state, calculated and targeted taking down of an opponent... I enjoy gods who aren't all-powerful - perhaps only within their domain, or who no longer have proper control even though their raw power is there.

Is it 100% because dick too bomb that the businessman changes sides (I am in fact down for 10k of exactly that), or did rhetoric contribute? How did the revolutionary find an in with the businessman, or did the businessman seek him out? They could meet as complete strangers, could remember each other from when they were close years back, could have been accidentally linked by some cyber-bureaucracy-dystopian issue (upload of wrong memories? Assets glitched to show up in the wrong account?), or approach each other with full knowledge that they're people on opposing sides but now they need to find common ground.

- Either or both of these not being human would be fun too. Alien or android feels like it would fit nicely.
Male Superhero/Male Supervillain Who Almost Dies to Shield Hero from Harm
Would love to know why that supervillain goes so far. Whether they admire the hero That Much after all the time spent fighting them, or there's a greater mutual enemy, or their own type of moral code has intervened... Also down for many kinds of 'super' qualities - mutation, magic item, different species, tech gimmicks, etc. etc.

- Would be up for the live-saving to happen early in the story, kicking off the road to romance, or at the end of a story, where the villain has been pining wildly and it culminates in the live-saving.
- Are there witnesses? Journalists, teammates, people in the streets?
- Identity porn where the hero and/or villain has a secret identity, leading to interaction in a vastly different capacity.
Prophesied Hero/Prophesied Dark Lord
I'd especially love this as sprouting from them rejecting the prophecy, which eventually leads to romance. And I'm leaning towards that attitude working out happily for them, but a tragedy of inevitable betrayal and irreconcilable differences can be fun too. Any type of fantasy goes - high, urban, science fiction flavoured, and so on. It would be interesting to see the structures around those prophecies. Have they been carefully recorded and passed down? Is this a surprise to the prophet, that they have to seek out these two random people and ruin their days?
Misc.:
- kidfic where they are united by having to take care of a random child. Different chosen one? Physical embodiment of random chance who could release them from their destinies? Prophesied sacrifice that they refuse to see sacrificed?
- Either or both of them not being human would be fun too.
- Maybe cultural differences and/or slightly off interpretations of the prophecies can save them? Like doing X is unforgivable for one culture but if they go over to a different one, it's got a different context entirely.
Solo: Questing Knight Who Encounters Increasingly Deadly Traps When He Seeks Accommodations
I'd love if he didn't even deserve this. He's trying his best to get a meal and some rest, and somehow the pit traps on the path have started to have elephants at the bottom? Uncalled for. Who has it out for this poor fellow? Which traps get to him - the puzzles, the gross ones, the brute force ones eventually wearing him out, the magic ones, the surprisingly simple ones? Do other people need rescuing from some? I'm imagining a woodsy setting, but feel free to go with something else.

- This makes me think of what Procrustes got up to with the murder-beds, which in turn lead me not to mind if this is a more general hero rather than a knight in specific. Feel free to make him come from any time or anywhere, European or otherwise.
- Accidentally wandered into a non-human land (fairies, gods, aliens, etc.), and that's why all the traps are about. Could be fun with that trope where time passes differently in other realms, so yesterday the knight's friends saw a chipper friend off, and he re-appears [three generations later / the following day, haggard and having lost a few body parts and bone-thin or muscled way up / two days ago].

Feferi Peixes/The Psiioniic | The Helmsman
Rescue or the aftermath thereof would be amazing. Or them talking philosophy - I'd love anything fleshing out Psii's revolutionary past, his personal philosophy about the revolution, and how Feferi's point of view grew and changed from 13 to the point where she finds Psii. But I could not say no to the Helmsman getting released by the same face that enslaved him, and the two of them working with and around those difficulties as he recuperates.

- I'm easy with names. Helmsman, Mituna, Psiioniic, something else - all good. Feferi could have an adult name?
- Any quadrant but ashen, please.
- I like to imagine a massive strife between the Condesce and Feferi prior to her discovering the nitty gritty details of her legacy, among them the Captor in the engine block. Maybe Feferi also needs some hurt/comfort or just plain medical attention after the fighting? I also like it when Feferi brings in like, all her friends to take part in that strife, which maybe could inspire the Psiioniic to lend a hand?

- once read a headcanon where psionics were naturally the predators of sea dwellers - light up an area of water with electricity-like psionic powers and guess who goes belly-up. (I do have that cannibalism DNW, so I don't want focus on actual people-eating, but I'm fine with it as context and especially for power struggle, instinctive reaction type tropes.)

I'm so into her combative, break-it-all, perpetually suspicious tendencies, and her sense of humour, low-key kindness, and goofiness. I'd like exploration of how willing she is to crack things apart in search of answers - what if her quest to break SBurb open to see how it ticked had worked (and the answer wasn't 'well that's a doomed taimeline now')? What did she and could she glean from the horrorterrors? And also of how prickly she is about sincere affection; the escalating passive aggression wars, disbelieving that any element of sincere feeling could be involved, can be funny and heart-breaking, and I'm up for more of both. Alpha Rose is also more than welcome. I'd love to know what she Saw, how she prepared for her meteor baby (and probably also Dave's), the process of getting to fame and fortune with her books.

Mostly I like them red, but their kiss stands out as a fine example of not understanding blackrom but being fascinated by it, so black/red flipping is good too. It is obvious where Equius is coming from, but I do like takes where he has admiration for her that doesn't spring solely from his hemospectrum fetishes even though they are twisted up in it. Her noble comportment, and so on. What caught his attention about *her* aside from blood colour? It is intriguing to me where the Aradiabots in the dream bubbles who stuck with Equius for a long time were coming from - were they from timelines where they were still compelled by the microchip? Had they started to just appreciate him? Was that an Equius of a slightly different sort to the main timeline one? I would love to know how this ship could work out.

Investigation of a cute 'n sweet yet feral life! Whether during the game - I'd love to see an in-depth look at what LOLCAT had to offer, with consorts and sidequests and fighting minibosses and so on. Or on Alternia - how far did she travel on Pounce/with Pounce on her? What were encounters with other trolls like? Or in an AU, so many kinds of AU, whatever comes to mind and doesn't hit a DNW. Ever since Hiveswap had several shady olivebloods, I've started to wonder how Nepeta might fare when faced with more solid expectations of what her caste is 'supposed' to get up to. If she goes to a city for the first time, will a bunch of people try and figure out if she's a spy/does hits? Or what would imperial decree be in terms of ushering someone like her into a certain type of future?

Bakura Ryou/Yami Bakura
This doesn't have to be romantic as such. I'm here for the psychological mess and twisted ideas of gratitude and help. That said, if there is some kind of process whereby Yami Bakura scrapes together some humanity and gets reasonable kinds of affection for his host, that's excellent.
Note: I'd prefer the boy to be called Bakura in narration, and then for the dead guy feel free to pick and choose - Other Bakura, Dark/Yami Bakura, thief, the spirit. It's just I'm used to hearing/seeing Bakura in canon rather than Ryou.
Misc.:
- I like Yami Bakura as a mix of Thief King, Zork, and whatever the millennia have managed to do to him.
- Roleswap, Yami Bakura is now the present-day dude and Ryou Bakura is the ancient ghost.

Honda Hiroto/Kawai Shizuka
They're these fairly ordinary sweethearts that get dumped into absolutely bizarre situations and just deal with it. Even directly after recovering from life-changing surgery, for Shizuka! I love that kind of thing, and with goofy, sweet teen romance added, that's great. I'd love to see them go up against more canon-typical obstacles - monsters, ghosts, magic, villains, school gangs - work together, and confess.
Misc.:
- They could deal with some of the mundane issues in their lives too. Aftermath of divorce and living with a split family, Honda's past as a bully and maybe also some gang involvement.
- Some protective Jounouchi seems realistic here, but I'd prefer him not to get seriously angry at Honda about dating Shizuka.
Solo: Kaiba Seto
This guy is weird. It's great. The supervillainy, the desire to make a giant playpark to make people happy that either doubles as supervillainy or is simply the nice thing he wants to do, deciding to therapeutically blow up tons of weapons as the climax of his international competition, all those dragons... I'd love something that takes a look at one of his weird and/or life-changing decisions and really digs into it, or takes a cohesive look at his character and how he deals with things in general.
Yami Bakura/Marik Ishtar
They were surprisingly cute in among their dastardly plans. Bickering when they're supposed to be facing down an enemy together, and there's this one little panel in the manga where Malik and Yami Malik want to talk 'privately' so Yami Bakura sticks his fingers in his ears. It feels way more human than he generally goes for and it is endearing. I'd love to see them work together longer, or find more common ground, or try and betray each other and eventually realise they can't quite do it.

I would love more about: Millennium Magic; (vs) Shadow Magic; how the system with the ka worked in Ancient Egypt and what exactly it means to have a ka bound to you; the travails of the Millennium Items over time; Duel Monsters cards and their affinities for their players, and how that overlaps with actual people like Mahad/Kisara/Mana influencing the modern day cards; KaibaCorp's influence in Domino City; the Duel Monsters Economy and how it works with Industrial Illusions, KaibaCorp, the frigging mafia as mentioned when Kaiba was going around collecting Blue Eyes White Dragon cards ... and a lot more. Pick a detail, any detail.

Bad romance, friendship, partnership, viciously undermining each other, utter trust, I Want It All. I'd adore something that dug harder into underlying implications - canon keeps the plot going at a cracking pace and I love and respect that, but for a fanwork it would be great to ease off on the pressing need for John and Arthur to move forwards. Talking about the Dark World and what relevance it might or might not have after ep 12 revelations, testing how well they can move together (more piano playing, perhaps) and getting into the nitty gritty of how fast they fell in sync with each other, tugging on the soul bond by some means (or someone else inflicting that on them), the way John has a lot of morality of his own sort and has changed immeasurably from who he once was. Maybe more backstory about Arthur's kid (and was there a wife?), or Peter Yang, or the King in Yellow. Also, always up for 2-in-1-body porn. Or (partially) manifested John would be great too, as long as that ends up weird.

This is basically an urgent whisper from deep in my soul: What if they got to be happy for a minute, come ON. Well, all right, then they shouldn't be in the TMA universe, but surely the fic universe can have Eric nabbing his kid and avoiding getting book-bound? I would love them living always on the edge of the Fears, but managing to eke out a life for themselves that's mostly peaceful. I always liked when Gerry would pop up in others' stories and grumpily help them - more of that, or Eric doing similarly, would be welcome. Alternately, revelling in the horrible sadness of their ends and having them be weird skin book family-buddies. Creepy, painful, bitter dark jokes, but also a type of family connection, wistfulness for the love they could have had for each other.
Danny Stoker/Tim Stoker
Tim's level of hung up on Danny, I could not resist. Such rose-coloured glasses! Ones that I could believe were as firmly affixed when Danny was still alive! I would love something semi-worshipful going on. But I would also like Danny to be weird about Tim somehow. Convinced that Tim is a schlub, despite the actual facts being that Tim is doing well for himself? In awe of how Tim is such a steady guy, unlike Danny who can't stop faffing about?

Michael's see-sawing interest in (hurting) Jon fascinates me, especially with how that lingering, painful humanity affects him and makes him petulant and furious and uncertain. Also I'm pretty grossed-out-delighted by the whole "huge hands that seem like they contain sharp objects" thing and maybe use could be made of that.

I love how he embodies the way the Fears do not work on the human plane, and also just him being creepy. All the tortured mess of being an all too human godfracture, please, with desperate moments of trying to find connection with the current people/old memories in the Archives. And what awareness does Michael have of the larger Spiral outside the universe? Michael-POV of luring people into horrific Distortion traps would also be great. Is there satisfaction to it, lingering horror maybe?

Considering the logistical difficulties, I'm fine with this being AU. Suddenly Gerry's come back to life? They meet earlier on? Weird metaphysical sex works too, maybe as a last hurrah (uh ... despite the eternal torment of semi-existence. mild hurrah. brisk yet fond goodbye.). Mostly I love the sense that these two could be there for each other and offer a connection to the world that Gerry's always wanted but couldn't achieve and Jon had to really try and work on.

- I always liked when Gerry would pop up in others' stories and grumpily help them - maybe an AU where Jon is more on the fringes of the supernatural rather than dead-centre Archivist of Beholding? Probably about to be eaten by Mr Spider who wants more.

I long for blood and filth. Just, my immediate thought is there's got to be unnameable funk and grime in addition to all the blood and limbs and fangs etc. inevitably flying about. I'd also love them going Hunting, with elements of how their engagement with the Hunt started as a well-intentioned thing and ended up as a horror within themselves. Plus, I'd love some pack mind type things happening. How much can Daisy fight it? Do Julia or Trevor ever want to, when they're so comfortable ending each other's sentences and killing each other's prey?

Going around and talking about things like nightmares running in the streets and stabbing people, missing how plants sound, everybody else being ants and yet still helplessly forming connections with them... I LOVE the deposed god-king vibe, and that Illyria comes from such a strange view of the world that defies record but her name has lingered on the historical record nonetheless. I want more of that alien perspective, or the time where she wielded power, or the kinds of desolation she has to endure after getting resurrected.
Note on pronouns: I default to 'she/her', but Illyria of old seemed like gender: 'too busy killing to care, everyone else too busy dying to bother' so I'm easy on whatever you'd want to go with.
Note on the comics: I've only seen the show, so would prefer to avoid info from the comics - unless there is cool Illyria stuff and it's contextualised for someone who hasn't read about it.
Possible song inspiration, for fanmix or just in general - Viva La Vida by Coldplay gives me an Illyria mood.

Misinterpreted mysteries of the old world, wildly creative vehicles, the influence of practical brutality on people's mindsets/habits/psychology, mythology invented anew and remixed from old, fantastic elements like ghosts, language change with neologisms like "kamicrazy", disparate groups that defend their territories and in particular what is UP with the Buzzards being a group of Russian-speaking people right there in the middle of Australia, names that sound strange and legendary all at once, how things change for the Wretched post-movie... I'd love a look at the social, religious, and/or everyday routines for worldbuilding. Feel free to mix it in with the requested ships below or Capable/Nux, Cheedo/The Dag, Angharad/anyone, Toast/Slit, The Dag/Toast, Miss Giddy & anyone, Vuvalini & War Boys.
The Splendid Angharad/Furiosa
Same goal, but different views on how to get there: it makes for excellent friction. I want to see more of Angharad being fierce, inspiring, sheltered, and Furiosa despairing, wise, and ferocious, and both of them dealing with hope. How did they establish trust in each other? If Furiosa was a Wife once too, what impact did that have on their interactions? I'd love to see politicking within the Citadel - Furiosa has power as a full-life imperator, Angharad could have influence as the 'favourite'; or the plotting of the escape and how it necessitated Furiosa and Angharad growing closer; or AUs in the general canon-based setting (for example Angharad Lives, or Furiosa has always been at the Green Place that never went sour).
Misc.:
- I'd be into seeing something about issues around sex. How does Angharad deal? I can also see a Furiosa who hasn't really let herself experience sexual desire in ages, due to the culture she's in; maybe it's very strange for her to feel it again. Or instead, desperate, cathartic self-reclaiming sex that results in basically no issues at all.
- One day I saw this ship get called "Fangharad" and my brain jumped to werewolf AU. Feel free to use any werewolf mythology you like, or make some up. Doesn't have to be in the canon setting, it could be modern AU + werewolves.
- I love when the Wives get new clothes, so in case of a visual element with Angharad, that would be great.
Furiosa/The Valkyrie
"This is our Furiosa" = real true love. I am dying to know what kind of friends they were, how they were forged by the world and each other when they were young, every Vuvalini ritual they attended or ditched together, what they could have been if the Valkyrie had lived. How much shock would there be for what Furiosa became over those 7000 days (and then there are the unremembered ones that could offer their own treasure trove of upset and horror), how much sympathy? What memories of the Green Place could they share?
Misc.:
- Once saw a post about how the Valkyrie has all sorts of black feathers and crow skulls in her outfit and on her bike, and also saw different posts about how the people in the swamp were a split-off faction from the Vuvalini when the Green Place went under. Would be very interested in implications from that. Is there bitterness or cooperation from the Valkyrie's side, and would Furiosa want to meet those people (again) or not?
Nux/Slit
Best frienemies and also there could all kinds of sexual issues in the mix, because life at the Citadel is like that. I'd love them as way to view the general War Boy culture - ideas about sex, kindness, religion, imminent death, hierarchy, the mix of innocence and being monsters. And I'd love anything expanding on the push and pull between them, like with Slit wanting to sneak into a promotion as a driver and Nux fighting no-holds-barred to keep his position - there could be resentment and admiration both. What does Slit think of Nux naming and smileyfacing his tumours? Do they do each other's body art?

And I'd love anything about what it's like for them to be together long-term once the Digital World is no longer a secret. ...Also about Gomamon's Marching Fishes attack, which I find cute, and maybe the fish have commentary that they chip in with sometimes.

Ageing Male Operetta Singer/Recently Widowed Younger Duke
Seduction from the singer's side so that he has something to fall back on? The young widow pursuing the person whose art made his grief feel bearable or simply made him feel less lonely? Is there a major difference between the singer's public-facing persona and his private one - is it charming when the Charm™ turns off, or is he surprisingly genuine in all non-stage interactions? Perhaps one or both of them never expected to fall for a man, and there's exploration of new ground. Perhaps there's a deadline of sorts to the relationship, because the singer's career might get to a point where it's best to move away to something more secure. An ending with wistful goodbyes would work for me as well as happy & together for good.

- dancing is part of operetta so I'd love dancing tropes between them. Teach Me, getting literally swept off feet, unspoken feelings rising during this nearly-though-not-entirely socially acceptable closeness...

Down for any religion that has room for fallen angels, and also the knight questioning whether or not that makes a demon. And possibly the angel questioning, too. I'd prefer the angel here to be more like 'person with wings' style, though if there are intimations towards the 'wings! eyeballs! animal heads! I don't even know what THAT is!' style I would have no complaints.

How did the revolutionary find an in with the businessman, or did the businessman seek him out? They could meet as complete strangers, could remember each other from when they were close years back, could have been accidentally linked by some cyber-bureaucracy-dystopian issue (upload of wrong memories? Assets glitched to show up in the wrong account?), or approach each other with full knowledge that they're people on opposing sides but now they need to find common ground.

Male Superhero/Male Supervillain Who Almost Dies to Shield Hero from Harm
Would love to know why that supervillain goes so far. Whether they admire the hero That Much after all the time spent fighting them, or there's a greater mutual enemy, or their own type of moral code has intervened... Also down for many kinds of 'super' qualities - mutation, magic item, different species, tech gimmicks, etc. etc.

- Would be up for the live-saving to happen early in the story, kicking off the road to romance, or at the end of a story, where the villain has been pining wildly and it culminates in the live-saving.
- Are there witnesses? Journalists, teammates, people in the streets?

Prophesied Hero/Prophesied Dark Lord
I'd especially love this as sprouting from them rejecting the prophecy, which eventually leads to romance. And I'm leaning towards that attitude working out happily for them, but a tragedy of inevitable betrayal and irreconcilable differences can be fun too. Any type of fantasy goes - high, urban, science fiction flavoured, and so on. It would be interesting to see the structures around those prophecies. Have they been carefully recorded and passed down? Is this a surprise to the prophet, that they have to seek out these two random people and ruin their days?
Misc.:
- kidfic where they are united by having to take care of a random child. Different chosen one? Physical embodiment of random chance who could release them from their destinies? Prophesied sacrifice that they refuse to see sacrificed?
- Either or both of them not being human would be fun too.
- Maybe cultural differences and/or slightly off interpretations of the prophecies can save them? Like doing X is unforgivable for one culture but if they go over to a different one, it's got a different context entirely.
Solo: Questing Knight Who Encounters Increasingly Deadly Traps When He Seeks Accommodations
I'd love if he didn't even deserve this. He's trying his best to get a meal and some rest, and somehow the pit traps on the path have started to have elephants at the bottom? Uncalled for. Who has it out for this poor fellow? Which traps get to him - the puzzles, the gross ones, the brute force ones eventually wearing him out, the magic ones, the surprisingly simple ones? Do other people need rescuing from some? I'm imagining a woodsy setting, but feel free to go with something else.

- This makes me think of what Procrustes got up to with the murder-beds, which in turn lead me not to mind if this is a more general hero rather than a knight in specific. Feel free to make him come from any time or anywhere, European or otherwise.
- Accidentally wandered into a non-human land (fairies, gods, aliens, etc.), and that's why all the traps are about. Could be fun with that trope where time passes differently in other realms, so yesterday the knight's friends saw a chipper friend off, and he re-appears [three generations later / the following day, haggard and having lost a few body parts and bone-thin or muscled way up / two days ago].

DNW notes: So I don't want addiction, and that does mostly count for the Lalondes' alcohol abuse, too. I'm more OK with it for Mom in terms of how it had a big impact on Rose and her approach to people and relationships, but I'd prefer as little mention of it as possible aside from Mom.
Feferi Peixes/The Psiioniic | The Helmsman
Rescue or the aftermath thereof would be amazing. Or them talking philosophy - I'd love anything fleshing out Psii's revolutionary past, his personal philosophy about the revolution, and how Feferi's point of view grew and changed from 13 to the point where she finds Psii. But I could not say no to the Helmsman getting released by the same face that enslaved him, and the two of them working with and around those difficulties as he recuperates.
Misc:
- I'm easy with names. Helmsman, Mituna, Psiioniic, something else - all good. Feferi could have an adult name?
- Any quadrant but ashen, please.
- I like to imagine a massive strife between the Condesce and Feferi prior to her discovering the nitty gritty details of her legacy, among them the Captor in the engine block. Maybe Feferi also needs some hurt/comfort or just plain medical attention after the fighting? I also like it when Feferi brings in like, all her friends to take part in that strife, which maybe could inspire the Psiioniic to lend a hand?
- fantasystuck where the Psiioniic is also an heir (doom optional) and he and Feferi have to decide whether to ally or be combative.
- once read a headcanon where psionics were naturally the predators of sea dwellers - light up an area of water with electricity-like psionic powers and guess who goes belly-up. That sure would be a twist :3c. AU or integrating it somehow into canon would both be great. (I do have that cannibalism DNW, so I don't want focus on actual people-eating, but I'm fine with it as context and especially for power struggle, instinctive reaction type tropes.)
Rose Lalonde
I'm so into her combative, break-it-all, perpetually suspicious tendencies, and her sense of humour, low-key kindness, and goofiness. I'd like exploration of how willing she is to crack things apart in search of answers - what if her quest to break SBurb open to see how it ticked had worked (and the answer wasn't 'well that's a doomed taimeline now')? What did she and could she glean from the horrorterrors? And also of how prickly she is about sincere affection; the escalating passive aggression wars, disbelieving that any element of sincere feeling could be involved, can be funny and heart-breaking, and I'm up for more of both. Alpha Rose is also more than welcome. I'd love to know what she Saw, how she prepared for her meteor baby (and probably also Dave's), the process of getting to fame and fortune with her books.

Aradia Megido/Equius Zahhak
Mostly I like them red, but their kiss stands out as a fine example of not understanding blackrom but being fascinated by it, so black/red flipping is good too. It is obvious where Equius is coming from, but I do like takes where he has admiration for her that doesn't spring solely from his hemospectrum fetishes even though they are twisted up in it. Her noble comportment, and so on. What caught his attention about *her* aside from blood colour? It is intriguing to me where the Aradiabots in the dream bubbles who stuck with Equius for a long time were coming from - were they from timelines where they were still compelled by the microchip? Had they started to just appreciate him? Was that an Equius of a slightly different sort to the main timeline one? I would love to know how this ship could work out.
Misc:
- No SGrub AU and how they might have interacted there (whether Aradia is alive or dead). Ordinary sort of teen courtship, complicated by dystopia and so on? Rebellion against the Empire, possibly with being on opposite sides?

Investigation of a cute 'n sweet yet feral life! Whether during the game - I'd love to see an in-depth look at what LOLCAT had to offer, with consorts and sidequests and fighting minibosses and so on. Or on Alternia - how far did she travel on Pounce/with Pounce on her? What were encounters with other trolls like? Or in an AU, so many kinds of AU, whatever comes to mind and doesn't hit a DNW. Ever since Hiveswap had several shady olivebloods, I've started to wonder how Nepeta might fare when faced with more solid expectations of what her caste is 'supposed' to get up to. If she goes to a city for the first time, will a bunch of people try and figure out if she's a spy/does hits? Or what would imperial decree be in terms of ushering someone like her into a certain type of future?

The Upside Down! The awareness at least two governments have of it! I'm up for any theories/ideas/headcanons, they could even contradict each other if you're making different fanworks. The people with special powers; the different kinds of monsters; the mirroring between dimensions down to small details - and where the stark differences come from; how the Upside Down might or might not change between different places on Earth.
I'd be happy to see this explored with canon characters or original ones. The canon characters can be anyone, too, not just Will/Eleven/the Flayed - I'm here for an AU where one or more of the others stumbled in there, or Barb lives, or Nancy got stuck when she went to investigate...

- I'd be very interested to see international Upside Down, whether the dimension or the information different places have on it. What kind of information might governments share with each other related to it?

I'm most familiar with dub and manga, but feel free to go with sub elements, or things from the Toei anime. I have osmosed so much YGO DM over the years.
Bakura Ryou/Yami Bakura
This doesn't have to be romantic as such. I'm here for the psychological mess and twisted ideas of gratitude and help. That said, if there is some kind of process whereby Yami Bakura scrapes together some humanity and gets reasonable kinds of affection for his host, that's excellent.
Note: I'd prefer the boy to be called Bakura in narration, and then for the dead guy feel free to pick and choose - Other Bakura, Dark/Yami Bakura, thief, the spirit. It's just I'm used to hearing/seeing Bakura in canon rather than Ryou.
Misc.:
- I like Yami Bakura as a mix of Thief King, Zork, and whatever the millennia have managed to do to him.
- Roleswap, Yami Bakura is now the present-day dude and Ryou Bakura is the ancient ghost.
- Always enjoy things digging into how Bakura helped Yami Bakura with building the Pharaoh's memories tabletop setting. How did Bakura get to the point of doing it? Was he lied to, bitter, threatened, desperate, so brainfucked that it seemed fine?
- do not hesitate to get fluffy with art. Contextless happiness works well for me there.

Honda Hiroto/Kawai Shizuka
They're these fairly ordinary sweethearts that get dumped into absolutely bizarre situations and just deal with it. Even directly after recovering from life-changing surgery, for Shizuka! I love that kind of thing, and with goofy, sweet teen romance added, that's great. I'd love to see them go up against more canon-typical obstacles - monsters, ghosts, magic, villains, school gangs - work together, and confess.
Misc.:
- They could deal with some of the mundane issues in their lives too. Aftermath of divorce and living with a split family, Honda's past as a bully and maybe also some gang involvement.
- Some protective Jounouchi seems realistic here, but I'd prefer him not to get seriously angry at Honda about dating Shizuka.
Solo: Kaiba Seto
This guy is weird. It's great. The supervillainy, the desire to make a giant playpark to make people happy that either doubles as supervillainy or is simply the nice thing he wants to do, deciding to therapeutically blow up tons of weapons as the climax of his international competition, all those dragons... I'd love something that takes a look at one of his weird and/or life-changing decisions and really digs into it, or takes a cohesive look at his character and how he deals with things in general.
Yami Bakura/Marik Ishtar
They were surprisingly cute in among their dastardly plans. Bickering when they're supposed to be facing down an enemy together, and there's this one little panel in the manga where Malik and Yami Malik want to talk 'privately' so Yami Bakura sticks his fingers in his ears. It feels way more human than he generally goes for and it is endearing. I'd love to see them work together longer, or find more common ground, or try and betray each other and eventually realise they can't quite do it.

- I like Yami Bakura as a mix of Thief King, Zork, and whatever the millennia have managed to do to him.
Worldbuilding
I would love more about: Millennium Magic; (vs) Shadow Magic; how the system with the ka worked in Ancient Egypt and what exactly it means to have a ka bound to you; the travails of the Millennium Items over time; Duel Monsters cards and their affinities for their players, and how that overlaps with actual people like Mahad/Kisara/Mana influencing the modern day cards; KaibaCorp's influence in Domino City; the Duel Monsters Economy and how it works with Industrial Illusions, KaibaCorp, the frigging mafia as mentioned when Kaiba was going around collecting Blue Eyes White Dragon cards ... and a lot more. Pick a detail, any detail.

Arthur/John
Bad romance, friendship, partnership, viciously undermining each other, utter trust, I Want It All. I'd adore something that dug harder into underlying implications - canon keeps the plot going at a cracking pace and I love and respect that, but for a fanwork it would be great to ease off on the pressing need for John and Arthur to move forwards. Talking about the Dark World and what relevance it might or might not have after ep 12 revelations, testing how well they can move together (more piano playing, perhaps) and getting into the nitty gritty of how fast they fell in sync with each other, tugging on the soul bond by some means (or someone else inflicting that on them), the way John has a lot of morality of his own sort and has changed immeasurably from who he once was. Maybe more backstory about Arthur's kid (and was there a wife?), or Peter Yang, or the King in Yellow. Also, always up for 2-in-1-body porn. Or (partially) manifested John would be great too, as long as that ends up weird.

- Would love stylisation re: the body parts Arthur has lost to John's control. Eyes, hand, foot. Whatever's next...?
