DNW Extra: Original Works
- General: cannibalism, focus on death, death of requested characters, serial killing, torture, "bored genius" character types (if they're excited, curious, or otherwise engaged, I'm fine with geniuses)
- Settings: steampunk, college/university, organised crime
- Kink: spanking, scat, vomiting, fisting
DNW Extra: MCU
- Torture referenced for Bucky or any of the Guardians is fine, as long as it's not on-screen and focused on, and is in the past.
- Thunderbolts* spoilers
David/Luke
Would love something where David has a general power with supernatural keys and locks. It's not only getting Luke out of imprisonment, it's also some other magical door getting opened! And leading to all kinds of adventures for them.
And/or David getting used to this god who's endlessly grateful to him and a boundless source of trouble. David seemed highly dubious about his realisation about who Luke is at the end of the story, and it could go unsettling places. I also feel like Luke is deliberately tailoring himself to David's level (minus all the cricket) - how would this change or not as David ages?
I love a crossover. These two getting to visit other Diana Wynne Jones settings, or any of my other requested fandoms (including Original Works) would be fun. Or a fusion or crossover with the movie Spirited Away.
Adelheid & Tsuna
At the beginning of the Simon Arc, Adelheid was the one rooting the hardest for fighting the Vongola. I'd love if that vengefulness was explored, whether an AU where she is more directly against him instead of Enma, or weird lingering feelings after the conflict has technically been resolved as in canon. Adelheid and the other Simon kids went through a whole lot so I can imagine that the trauma would continue to impact them, and in a lot of ways I think Tsuna would understand that enough to work with it, even while none of it is his fault.
They're also both a lot more down to earth than a lot of their companions, so I'd be into them getting along in unexpected moments. Enemies to friends, or enemies AND friends? Maybe they aren't sure either. Or an AU where Adelheid is Tsuna's elegantly grouchy and insistent right hand while Gokudera is with the Simon or Kokuyo or something could be interesting.
Gokudera/Tsuna
I love the growth of their relationship into something mutual; how they slowly understand each other better, get used to the extremes or start wearing down their edges, and begin to really see each other. Them being with each other in an ordinary, sweet way is delicious, so 5k of just awkward dates would do me fine. But Gokudera's over-the-top devotion from the beginning is also fun, so feel free to go with that even if Tsuna doesn't yet reciprocate. In fact, pining is great (and going with Tsuna-->Gokudera is equally welcome to the other way round).
Battle couple is also a great vibe for them, or tackling a new enemy or working together to some goal. Whether it's a ridiculous slapstick goal or an angsty, someone's-in-deadly-danger goal, I love both.
Also: Would love an AU where Gokudera does go back to Italy in the "Promotion" chapter (but where the Ninth does not try to get him killed as a result! Well, unless he comes back from that.), and I'm always up for TYL Gokudera and TYL Tsuna sorting out what the whole Millefiore mess means for their relationship.
Kyoko & Ryohei
Anything exploring the way Ryohei tries to keep Kyoko safe to the point where he is telling absurd lies. TYL Kyoko pings me as having been kept in the dark about the mafia, while present Kyoko now knows the truth, which Ryohei was upset about, and I'd love something that contrasts the two different paths. What happens after the Millefiore Arc on both sides? Or it doesn't have to be a contrast - either version of the siblings dealing with the truth/lies/protection on their own is good, especially if if it's a result of enemies being in their business. Would Kyoko ever cultivate fighting power? (If she gets a flame going, I like her as mist or sun.) Or there could be great angst as one desperately tries to heal the other/treat wounds after some serious injuries.
Or anything about Kyoko having her own extreme side - I like to think it shows in little ways like how she hears that Nuts violently attacked Tsuna and goes "Wow, your box animal sounds so cool!" What kind of ridic things did they get up to as younger children, or will they get up to?
Bucky/Jane
A case of liking both characters and thinking they would jive in a fun way. Bucky's intense enough that he could jolt Jane out of science mode and get himself on her radar, and she's intense enough that I think he'd appreciate how much time she can spend self-contained without needing too much input from his side. But I also think he'd get a bit of a kick taking care of her ("put down the data, Jane") - he seems to have a protective and caring streak.
I like how they're these nice, attractive people who could make a normal-seeming couple, but their backstories go way off that path and neither of them might now that. Bucky tries a little of the old charm, Jane tries getting out on the dating scene? and then things get Exciting, and not just because of Darcy's advice.
Fandom also gave me a liking for Bucky who grew up as a fan of pulp science fiction. Him getting a kick out of watching Jane do wild stuff with wormhole physics would be wonderful. And feel free to get these two in space with the Guardians, too. Or maybe an accident with the Tesseract/Aether!
Drax the Destroyer & Gamora & Groot & Mantis & Nebula & Peter Quill & Rocket Raccoon
That's a lot of characters, so feel free to give major focus to one of them and have the rest as supporting cast. Each and any one of them is fine to focus on, and to be fully clear, I love both iterations of Groot. Feel free to bring in anybody else from the GOTG movies/holiday special if it fills a spot in the story, too - of course someone like Kraglin who ends up a consistent presence, but also Nova Prime, Dey, Ronan, the Sovereign, the OG Ravagers, etc. etc. I would prefer not to have focus on the High Evolutionary (fun in his theatrical way but simultaneously so depressing to me) or on Thanos, or him blowing up Xandar (just depressing). Mentions of them and their influence is totally fine, but please keep them to a minimal presence.
I'd love to see an adventure in the times between the movies. In what other ways do they save the galaxy, or perhaps a good handful of galaxies? What are the weirdest parts of space they've been too? What do they do when they run out of something? What kind of reception do they get from other people these days, and how does it differ from the old days? I'd also just love slice of life bonding, especially with how some characters have to join when the others have already got a settled dynamic. Or them getting back together post-GOTG 3 (minus alt timeline Gamora or with just a small cameo from her is fine). Or a character getting a glimpse into a universe where they're not a team, maybe in an It's a Wonderful Life kind of way where they appreciate the bonds more in absentia.
Very optionally, some ships I'd be into: Drax/Gamora(/Peter), Mantis/Nebula, original Gamora/Peter, Nebula/Peter, Nebula/Ronan, Rocket/Thor, Rocket/Yondu, Rocket-->Peter (requited is also good), original Groot/Rocket
General likes:
- Characters with big personalities
- Epistolary elements
- humour and/or light-hearted moments
- xeno (social, psychological, sexual, etc)
Desperate Superhero Whose Life is in Danger/Supervillain He Reluctantly Goes to for Help
Superhero's Male Sidekick/Male Supervillain Who Keeps Saving Him
Retired Male Supervillain/His Male Hero Nemesis Who Keeps Seeking Him Out Because He Misses Him
- Just love the vibes these give of ideological clashes, combined with the characters feeling understood in fundamental ways by each other because so few live their kind of life.
- Or they start understanding each other better after having faced a greater evil/disaster together at least once? That works too.
- The DC and Marvel flavour of superhero depiction is what I have in mind with these kinds of prompts.
- For superpowers, I especially like when they're an unexpected change, or aliens are involved (as the actual superpowered people or as a reason for humans developing powers), but all kinds of powers up to and including "regular human, but with a really really singular focus and maybe a pricey gadget" are welcome.
- Love when the settings (and to a degree, the people within them) are also distinctive. And feel free to go with a setting that draws from anywhere in the world.
Werewolf/Human he falls in love with (M/M)
Friendly Werewolf Pack & Formerly Abused Human They Adopt Into the Pack (Any&M)
- Bring any werewolf lore on board... but I do really like transformation being bound to the full moon. Ooh, except if it involves a magic wolfskin getting put on, then it can be any time.
- For the shippy prompt: scent kink very welcome.
- I'd love for werewolves to be a secret and either situation with a human growing close to be very unusual.
- The lycanthropy can be inconvenient and a curse that everybody needs to work around, or they're all lovely, friendly monsters really.
- Body horror would be great. And hey I DNW cannibalism but feel free to chomp up a human or two for this prompt, especially if they're real assholes.
Nomadic Horse Archer/The City Girl She Falls For (F/F)
- How do they resolve their different lifestyles with their relationship? Or maybe they find that, even with missing each other, they prefer to have the time apart as part of it all.
- Is there more than just the sedentary-nomadic divide - are their cultures entirely different?
- I'd love the archery to come up and be expanded on. Trick shots for entertainment, much needed hunting, there's a war, some other reason?
- Re: ages: "city girl" gives me an impression of any age from older teens and up. I'm down for a childhood romance too but in that case I'd prefer no age gap to two years' gap. If everyone is above 20 then big age gaps are good too.
- I'd prefer minimal or zero fantasy elements. Science-fiction is good if you want, and of course historical or pseudo-historical is good too.
- If you go for historical fiction for this, I do not need accuracy, feel free to go with vibes.
Autistic Regency Gentleman/The Handsome Rake He Pulls By Being Weird
- For this I would love two people who feel themselves at odds with the many, many social rules, and though it occurs for different reasons and in different ways, this makes them more comfortable with each other.
- Love a dance scene in a regency story.
- The rake especially discovering himself attracted to a man when it hadn't crossed his mind before, even with many other dalliances, could be fun.
- Can be a homophobia-free AU or not, either way.
- I would prefer not to have abusive family members involved, especially for the autistic gentleman. If family is present I don't expect perfection or modern levels of understanding from those characters, but e.g. no daily beatings or regular starvation, those kinds of things, you know?
- I do not need historical accuracy, feel free to go with vibes.
Forgotten God & Baby Abandoned On Their Altar
- Strange and mythic events (god eats baby, so baby plays xylophone on his ribs to pass the time!) as welcome as a more straightforward take on Accidental Baby Acquisition.
- I'd love if the god has also kind of forgotten what they were all about at the start. Do they eventually remember what they were, as they become more engaged with the present? become a different kind of god?
- The god can keep the baby or eventually give it to those better suited to care for it, or whatever else sounds good.
- Any species are welcome here, though I'd prefer everybody to be sapient. Human baby plus dragon god? Unicorn god of death plus the first baby unicorn in millennia? That kind of thing.
